Trolls

There was a time when we all happily spent time "scrapping" each other on Orkut. Checking each other's profiles whenever we received an update on our homepage, wondering how everybody looked so different on their display pictures, how does that one have more friends than mine, checking on how many fans you had, who wrote a testimonial for whom etc. Then happened communities. The proper Orkut-user would join communities pertaining to their interest e.g, their school's community, favourite TV shows, actors etc.

Then there were the Orkut users who started looking at it as a platform that did not restrict them to the people they knew. Community discussions/forums gained popularity. One such Community that I chanced upon was Monkeystan. They'd PWN the new entries, spam different communities, use expletives (about 3 years ago) that most people are still not aware of! In one simple word, they TROLLED!

Sometime later Facebook happened! For a regular Monkeystan user, this was useless. There weren't communities to troll, there wasn't a page/group as active as their Orkut community. The Rockstars stayed on Orkut before deciding to move to Facebook because it seemed everyone was intrigued by this social networking platform. Here, life wasn't half as great. There were profiles that were locked. No more Trolling. Even if we did manage to troll, the discussions weren't that fun. So people were restricted to their profiles.

Gradually, "becoming a fan" took over as a craze. There were pages that were worth following! Then becoming a fan changed to "Like". Most fans didn't approve of that but then going by it's popularity today, nobody really remembers the "Become a Fan" any more. Then came discussions on the Pages. For the Orkut-turned-Facebook wannabes, this was a great way to "Fraandsheepzz"! There were a few Intellectuals who would be-friend each other through these discussions for better communication later.

thewittyshit.com being one such page that allowed the creative to bond. As time passed there was a collection of Wit-Veterans whose "likes" were the deciding factor about the better "wits" posted on the page's wall. Such authority gave them a reason to bond better and communicate through a secret group ( Name With-held) where they could decide how to make thewittyshit.com a better place. The group resulted in "Velle" discussions that would go on and on from dawn to dusk, a lot of accidental jokes that would get featured on the facebook page , cat-fights and yet again, Trollery.

On Twitter however, Trollery hasn't spared even the celebrities, leave out the wannabes! Social Networking has removed the blindfolds. We are now easily aware of the other one's flaws (because we pick out the flaws better than the qualities), we're aware of what's on their minds, where they are, what they did last night, who they last spoke to over the phone, how many times they brushed their teeth before going to sleep, why they haven't slept, who's profile pictures get more likes, who recently got a haircut, what are their ideologies (:P) about life etc.
Hence, Trollery will happen. Just because there aren't many opportunities to voice our opinion on most issues, we will find a way! Even if that means "Trolling". B)

I don't know.

Intelligent conversations. I've been longing to have an intelligent conversation for the past 2 weeks. When I find nobody else, I start talking to myself. I ask myself a question and it gets answered in a mono-syllable. Or maybe in three words-I don't know. After 3 days of toying with the idea of a meaningful conversation, when people actually started asking me intelligent questions that required intelligent answers, I realised that I had the same answers to give them that I often gave myself. Yes. No. I don't know.
And now I know that intelligent is just a word. It may have a meaning, but nobody is intelligent. Or so I'd like to believe. The world's biggest questions have the same answers. Does God exist? The answers you may get-Yes.No.I don't know! Will man travel to the Sun someday? Yes. No. I don't know! Are you intelligent all the time? Yes. No. I don't know. If you have another answer to give, I'll classify you as an alien. Why will I do that? Because,
1.  it is MY blog.
2. I am writing this.
3. I don't know! :P
Now that I don't know most of the things, and about the ones that I'm sure of  (i.e, the ones that I can answer in a Yes or No), well, I won't answer them because some people will get hurt, some annoyed and some excessively happy. I don't want to be the reason behind extreme emotions. Hence, I maintain- I don't know.
I don't know why I wrote this. I don't know if somebody is going to read this. I don't know how many of you will be alive tomorrow. I don't know if I will be alive tomorrow. I don't know if.. blah blah blah.~ 300 more questions whose answers I don't know.
